Health Information Technology

Information Management/Information Technology (IM/IT) Officers lead diverse teams of technical and non-technical professionals in support of Military Treatment Facilities (MTF), operational and headquarters mission requirements for the Navy and Marine Corps.

MTF Chief Information Officers (CIO) ensure operation and readiness of networks and information systems needed to support healthcare delivery mission.
IM/IT Officers in a joint environment develop and lead enterprise IT solutions for DHA, including the Military Health System (MHS) Genesis program which is the modern electronic health record that provides a single health record for Service members, veterans, and their families.
Operational IM/IT Officers ensure mission critical communications across CENTCOM, AFRICOM, and NORTHCOM for Expeditionary Medical Forces (EMF) and hospital ships.
Officers receive training and education in cybersecurity and network operations from NPS through Master and Ph.D. programs.

Lt. Adam Hoynacki, a physician at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Family Medicine Clinic, conducts a Navy Care virtual health visit.
