Industrial Hygiene Officers (IHO) perform a myriad of duties in order to protect the safety and health of U.S. Marines and Sailors around the globe. Precise anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control of workplace and operational stressors are critical to ensuring the health and safety of the Navy’s Military and Civilian workforce.
  • IHO’s frequently work with programs including: Risk management, environmental compliance, radiation safety, respiratory protection, ergonomics, medical surveillance, and hearing conservation.
  • IHO’swork to control hazards that may cause diseases or disabilities in our sailors and marines. Some of these hazards include noise, chemical exposures, heat stress, etc…
