CORE MISSION: Navy Research Physiologists lead and manage cutting edge research and development efforts to optimize performance, protect health, improve battlefield care and accelerate rehabilitation of Sailors, Marines, and Joint Service Warfighters.

WHO WE ARE:
  • We are highly qualified scientists with extensive research experience holding Ph.D. degrees in various integrated and applied physiology fields (e.g., environmental physiology, sleep/circadian rhythms, undersea medicine, exercise physiology, cardiovascular physiology, aviation medicine, neuroscience).
  • Currently, there are 18 research physiology positions located within the continental US (CONUS).
 
WHAT WE DO:
  • We support and enable OPERATIONAL READINESS and Force Health Protection through scientific oversight, technical expertise, and research and development.
  • We serve as RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT LEADS who conduct and manage basic and applied research on critical biomedical operational issues affecting the Navy and Marine Corps.
  • We serve as SCIENCE ADVISORS to senior leadership who leverage research findings to inform and develop data-driven policy decisions at various Navy headquarter commands.
  • We serve as ACQUISITION EXPERTS who manage the development of innovative biomedical knowledge products & technologies to close capability gaps which directly supports the Operational Forces.
