People: Our people are the most important part of this command. We will achieve mission’s success only by the professional and dedicated actions of our Sailors and civilians. Every member of this command has something to offer, something to give, and something to contribute. All staff will be treated with fairness, respect, and dignity. We cannot accept anything less.

We are a vital and critical mission enabler for medical readiness in military medicine. We will provide administrative, training, logistical, and operational support to Navy Medicine, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, and the National Capital Region. We will form an adaptive and scalable medical force that is mission ready and we will be prepared to execute the full range of medical support operations, worldwide, in support of our Nation’s Navy and Joint Forces. Teamwork: One of the greatest attributes of our command is our ability to accomplish amazing actions without necessarily receiving guidance to do so. All staff at NMRTC Bethesda are expected to take the initiative and help our customers and each other. We cannot be afraid to make mistakes. Well-intentioned errors are a part of life, and we learn as much from them as we do from our successes. The key is to learn from those mistakes, teach others the lessons learned, and apply those lessons to our own actions. To balance the challenges faced by today’s healthcare environment while developing the skills necessary to lead tomorrow’s Navy, we must work hard both as individuals and as a Team. Set your shipmates up for success, carrying your share of the load and providing back-up up, down and across the chain of command. The above represents the foundation of my value system. If we follow these principles, we will have mission success! I am extremely proud to be your Commanding Officer!
