Captain Crystal Bryant, USN

Executive Officer
 

CAPT Crystal Bryant is a native of Warrenton, North Carolina. She commissioned into the US Navy in 2003 after graduating from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. CDR Bryant graduated from the University of San Diego in 2014 with a Master of Science in Nursing, focused in Primary care as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Old Dominion University in May 2025.

Her commissioned service began as a staff nurse on the Hematology/Oncology unit at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Bethesda, Maryland from 2003-2006. During her tenure as a staff nurse on the oncology unit, she completed training and obtained chemotherapy nurse certification.

In 2006 CAPT Bryant transferred to Naval Hospital Yokosuka, Japan. She served as a staff nurse for the Inpatient Multi-Service Unit, Charge Nurse for Ambulatory Procedures and Conscious Sedation nurse for the Oral Maxillofacial and General Surgery departments. She transferred to Naval Medical Center San Diego in 2009. From 2009-2012, she served as Division Officer, Department of Orthopedics for both Naval Training Center and Naval Medical Center, San Diego. She was selected for Duty Under Instruction, Family Nurse Practitioner program and attended the University of San Diego in 2012. She graduated with honors and was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society in May 2014.

She reported to Naval Health Clinic, Hawaii in June 2014 and deployed for Pacific Partnership onboard the USNS Mercy from May 2015 to Sept 2015. She served as Command Training Officer for the entire command and as a Licensed Independent Provider for staff sick call and community health engagements. She also served as the OIC for community health engagements in Roxas City, Philippines. She later served as Department Head, Branch Clinic Wahiawa at Naval Health Clinic Hawaii and as the sole licensed provider for an all active duty population.

Her next assignment was Department Head Medical Homeport, Naval Health Clinic Charleston until Sept 2018. From Sept 2018 to June 2019 she served as Chief Medical Officer, a position historically held by physicians. She deployed to Isa Air Base Bahrain in June 2019 where he served as the Medical OIC for a population of over 1,500 personnel supporting US Navy, Army and Marine Corps. She reported to NMRTU Norfolk in June 2020 where she served as the Assistant Officer in Charge for five geographically separated branch clinics, serving one of the largest Fleet concentrated areas in the Navy. She was later selected as Director of Healthcare Business at NMRTC Portsmouth with direct oversight of TRICARE operations, Health Benefits, case management and Patient and Guest Relations. She then served as Director for Medical Services at Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point.

Decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with two stars, Navy Commendation Medal with three stars, Navy Achievement Medal with two gold stars, Army Achievement Medal and other personal, service, unit and campaign awards.
