Mission
Provide timely and expert legal services to Naval Medical Forces Support Development (NMFDC) leadership and staff in support of delivering ready medical capabilities to protect, prepare, and equip shore-based and operating forces for the full range of global military activities.
The Office of the Force Judge Advocate's primary responsibility is as the principal legal advisor to Commander, NMFDC on a wide range of issues impacting the mission and core goals of NMFDC and its area of responsibility concerning the interpretation and application of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, Manual for Courts-Martial, Manual of the Judge Advocate General, and other laws and regulations relevant to the administration and operations of the command.
Coordinate Standards of Conduct/Joint Ethics Regulations (JER) compliance and serve as a Designated Ethics Counselor.
Maintain liaison with the Office of the Judge Advocate General, Naval Legal Service Command, judge advocates of senior and subordinate commands, Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and other law enforcement agencies/organizations and civil authorities and community legal organizations.
Review and provide guidance on memoranda of understanding and support agreements.
Prepare coordinate, and manage responses of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and provide oversight Privacy Act (PA)
