The Navy Medicine Officer Orientation Course (Navy Medicine 101) is a five-day in-resident training program designed to provide new Naval Medical Department Officers of all Corps with an indoctrination into Navy Medicine covering fundamental knowledge, skills, and abilities related to personnel management and operational readiness.  NM-101 directly supports the Surgeon General’s priorities and orients new Naval Medical Department Officers to Department of Defense, Department of the Navy, and Navy Medicine organizational structures in preparation for operational assignments with the Fleet and Marine Forces.  Topics covered in the course include:

Eligibility
New Active Duty Naval Medical Department Officers of all Corps
 
*Currently, the course is only available as an intermediate stop (i-Stop) between and officer’s detachment from Officer Development School (ODS) and report to the member’s first permanent duty station.
