HMC (FMF/SW/AW/IW) Dianne K. Thorpe

Hospital Corpsman Chief Petty Officer Dianne Thorpe is a native of Jamaica, West Indies. She began her naval career on 13 September 2010 at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, IL followed by completion of Hospital Corpsman “A” School and Dental “ A” School. She then continued additional training in Advance Dental Technician in San Diego, California.

Chief Thorpe reported to her first duty station onboard USS San Antonio (LPD 17) in Norfolk, VA as a Hospital Corpsman Dental Assistant. In 2013 she reported to the Federal Health Care Center in Great Lakes, IL where she served as the Command Career Counselor and later the Leading Petty Officer of the Orthopedic Department. Her next tour of duty was to USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), Norfolk VA where she was assigned to the Dental Department and served as the Leading Petty Officer. During her tour, she deployed in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE.

In 2019, Thorpe was selected to the rank of Chief Petty Officer while assigned to Navy Talent Acquisition Group Pittsburgh, PA as a Recruiter. She reported to her next assignment 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, CA in 2021 and served as 2nd Battalion, 11th Marines Leading Chief Petty Officer and, subsequently 1st Battalion, 4th Marines Leading Chief Petty Officer. During her tour, she deployed with Battalion Landing Team 1/4 to Okinawa, Japan in support of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. She also served as the Senior Enlisted Medical Advisor to the Division Surgeon and the Division Surgeon’s Office Leading Chief Petty Officer.

Thorpe is currently assigned to Navy Medical Research Unit EURAFCENT, Sigonella, Italy as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader.

Her personal awards include Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards). She has also earned her Fleet Marine Force Warfare, Surface Warfare, Aviation Warfare and Information Warfare Specialist qualifications. She is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy.
