STANDARD PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

Safety and Occupational Health

  • Industrial Hygiene (IH) surveys
  • Technical assistance in workplace evaluations, NAVSOH program reviews, ventilation assessments and noise surveys
  • Development of exposure and workplace monitoring plans
  • Respiratory protection program support and fit testing
  • Hearing conservation program support
  • IH and medical guidance for activities during spill events and other environmental emergencies

Force Health Protection

  • Reach-back preventive medicine/public health support for units and providers to include ships, operational units and MTFs
  • Technical and pre-deployment assistance including force health protection recommendations to operational units and medical personnel; assistance with medical briefs
  • Regional or country specific health threat assessment and info, public health issues, and occupational health and safety support

Environmental Health

  • Technical assistance on Medical Readiness Inspections (MRI) and recommendations for compliance with Environmental Health standards
  • Technical assistance with Shipboard Sanitation Control Program, issuance of Shipboard Sanitation Certificates
  • Expeditionary water lab for contingency operations
  • Consultation on environmental and workplace heat stress

Disease Control and Prevention

  • Epidemiologic investigations of disease outbreaks, environmental/occupational health hazards, and disease/injury risks
  • Immunizations and chemoprophylaxis guidance
  • Coordinate area-wide disease surveillance

Integrated Pest Management (IPM)

  • Guidance on chemical repellent treatment of uniforms/clothing
  • Technical assistance on installation vector surveillance including identification of insect species
  • Technical assistance on pest management and disease vector surveillance and control
  • Review of requisitions for non-standard and restricted use pesticides/equipment for shipboard and contingency operations
  • Review of facility IPM plans in coordination with NAVFAC

Education and Training

  • Preventive Medicine and Occupational Health-related training courses
  • NAVSOH training for ships and submarines home-ported in or transiting the area

Health Promotion and Wellness

  • Technical assistance/consultation on Navy health promotion and wellness programs, support in Green H and Blue H
  • Health promotion and wellness products, supporting tools and resources

GLOBAL HEALTH ENGAGEMENT PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

  • Theater Security Cooperation missions to include Exercise support, mil-to-mil engagements and train the trainer
  • Support to Humanitarian Assistance/Disaster Relief (HA/DR) missions
  • Occupational and Environmental Health Site Assessment (OEHSA)
  • JDeployable rapid response Preventive Medicine support

Currently, neither mpox testing nor treatment are readily available in a forward deployed operational setting. Units should identify suspected cases, isolate them, and move them for care at an MTF when operationally feasible.
