he U.S. Navy Tattooing and Body Piercing Health and Sanitation TM and accompanying fillable inspection checklist were developed by NMCFHPC, to support Navy Preventive Medicine personnel in the consistent and effective oversight of body art establishments operating on NEX and MCX properties.
These resources provide standardized health and sanitation requirements, inspection criteria, and medical surveillance guidance to assist PM personnel in conducting routine and compliance inspections. The provisions apply to all body art establishments as defined within the TM and are intended to promote uniform enforcement across U.S. Navy and Marine Corps installations.
The overall purpose of this TM and inspection checklist is to protect the health, safety, and general welfare of both patrons and staff by reducing the risk of infection, injury, and disease transmission associated with tattooing and body piercing services.
