Jacksonville, FL - JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Aug. 25, 2021) - Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Ralph Bellamour, a radiologic technologist, calibrates medical imaging equipment at Naval Hospital Jacksonville. Bellamour recently returned from a three month tour at Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay, where he received a coin from the commanding officer and command master chief for his outstanding clinical work and volunteer work. A native of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Bellamour says, “I volunteered because I wanted to help out, and also because that is the closest I have been to home since I left after the earthquake in 2010. I really enjoyed my time, especially providing care.” He strives to live by the idea that there are two ways of spreading light: to be the source, or the mirror that reflects it.
