U.S. Navy Surgeon General Rear Adm. Bruce Gillingham signed a memorandum authorizing the realignment of Navy Medicine logistics commands. On May 13, the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations published the notice authorizing the Organizational Change Request renaming Navy Expeditionary Medical Support Command to Naval Medical Readiness Logistics Command (NMRLC). It also elevated NMRLC to an Echelon IV command.
