Corpsman competency from shore to ship...Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Don Wilwayco, assigned to Navy Medicine Readiness Training Command Bremerton, recently took part in teaming up with Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron 11 for operational platform training and familiarization exercises. Along with Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Jose Deras, Wilwayco were introduced to weapon handling, logistics, engineering, communications and unit operations in a small-boat environment, and in turn provided medical instruction helping develop a Tactical Combat Casualty Care program applicable for the kind of injuries and casualties a small boat unit could expect during a mission (official Navy photo by Douglas H Stutz, NHB/NMRTC Bremerton public affairs officer)
