I Am Navy Medicine – with MS – Meagan Christoph, MC3 retired

A snapshot of success… Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Meagan Christoph was surprised at work one day when assigned on Limited Duty status to Naval Hospital Bremerton by then-Navy Chief of Information Rear Adm. Charles W. Brown phoned to inform her she had also been chosen as 2019 DoD Thomas Jefferson Military Writer of the Year. Christoph has since been medically retired from active duty and was recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis – thanks to timely Navy Medicine identification of the disease – which is an autoimmune disease that impacts a person’s central nervous system such as the brain, optic nerves, spinal cord. It can’t be cured.
