NMRC’s Infectious Disease Diagnostic Laboratory Tests Samples for Zika Virus

SILVER SPRING, Md. (May 24, 2023) Dr. Hua Wei Chen, a research scientist with Naval Medical Research Command (NMRC)’s Infectious Diseases Diagnostic Laboratory (NIDDL) prepares a sample to test for the presence of the Zika RNA virus. The NIDDL serves in the detection and identification of high-risk and emerging infectious diseases and is a member of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Laboratory Response Network for detection and reporting of infectious disease threats around the globe.
