Remembering those who gave their all…When Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro recently visited Navy Medicine Readiness Training Unit Everett’s clinic, he was drawn to the clinic’s namesake, Hospital Corpsman David R. Ray, reverently remembered on the quarterdeck. The Congressional Medal of Honor recipient (posthumously) was killed in action March 19, 1969, for his actions during the Vietnam War at Phu Loc 6 near An Hoa in Quang Nam Province, Vietnam (Official Navy photo by Douglas H Stutz, NHB/NMRTC Bremerton public affairs officer).
