Members of En-route Care System (ERCS) Bravo and Emergency Resuscitative Surgical System (ERSS) Bravo return from a nighttime training combat patrol, March 14. During the patrol members were presented with a host of logistic and combat related problems to patient care and were tasked with extracting and caring for multiple simulated casualties from the patrol. ERCS and ERSS are components of the Navy’s expeditionary medicine (EXMED) system which provide a ready, rapidly deployable and combat effective medical forces to improve survivability across the full spectrum of care, regardless of environment. and provides uninterrupted care during patient movement from the point of injury (POI), implementation of life-saving interventions, and through Role 4 care without clinically compromising the patients’ condition. The Navy Medicine Operational Training Command (NMOTC) is the Navy’s leader in operational medicine and trains specialty providers for aviation, surface, submarine, expeditionary, and special operations communities.
