LCDR Conor Hynes, trauma surgeon assigned to Emergency Resuscitative Surgery System (ERSS) Bravo lifts a simulated patient over his head through an obstacle course as part of the initial course implementation of En-route Care System (ERCS), March 14. ERSS is one of the Navy’s expeditionary medicine capabilities that provides a ready, rapidly deployable and combat effective medical forces to improve survivability across the full spectrum of care, regardless of environment. and provides targeted lifesaving interventions to patients onboard platforms and in austere environments without clinically compromising the patients’ condition.
