MILLINGTON, Tenn. (April 12, 2024) Rear Adm. Rick Freedman, Deputy Surgeon General for the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED), and Rear Adm. Jim Waters, Commander, Navy Recruiting Command, have a discussion during the inaugural BUMED kaizen event at Navy Recruiting Command headquarters. Kaizen is a Japanese term meaning change for the better or continuous improvement. It is a structured approach focused on identifying and eliminating roadblocks that hinder a process.
