Hospitalman Derek Galvao of Forward Deployable Preventive Medicine Unit (FDPMU) FDPMU East Team attached to Navy Environmental Preventive Medicine Unit Two, observes a spider during Bold Alligator in Bogue Field, NC. FDPMU’s defend public health for deployed service members. These Navy units focus on medical readiness and Force Health Protection. FDPMUs must undergo nine-to-12-month training and an Operational Readiness Evaluation (ORE) before certification by Commander, Naval Medical Forces Command.
