Hospital Corpsman Third Class Nikki Brown Wolff retrieves a mosquito trap Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. Assigned to Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point’s Preventive Medicine Department, Brown Wolff, a native of Las Vegas, Nevada, helps monitor mosquito populations to protect the base’s staff, residents and service members from disease. Collected mosquitoes are frozen and counted to assess their prevalence.
