SAN DIEGO (June 17, 2025) Capt. Eric Welsh speaks at Naval Health Research Center’s (NHRC) change of command ceremony. The ceremony’s presiding officer, Capt. Franca Jones, commander, Naval Medical Research Center, was joined on stage by Capt. Kellie McMullen and Lt. Cdr. Michael Geoghegan. The ceremony, presided over by Jones, saw Welsh relieved as commanding officer, NHRC by McMullen. NHRC, part of Navy Medicine Research & Development, supports Navy, Marine Corps, and joint U.S. warfighter health readiness and lethality with research and development that delivers high-value, high-impact solutions to the health and readiness challenges U.S. military population faces on the battlefield, at-sea, home and abroad.
