Students from W.T. Sampson Elementary and High School observe diagnostic X-ray images while participating in the “They Ate What?” activity led by U.S. Army Maj. Catherine Barich, veterinarian, at the veterinary clinic onboard Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, March 10, 2026. The interactive session introduced students to radiographic imaging and how it is used to identify injuries, ingested foreign objects and other medical conditions in animals. The visit was part of a field trip hosted by U.S. Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Guantanamo Bay to provide hands-on exposure to careers in military medicine.
