FORT BRAGG, N.C. (Feb. 16, 2023) – A student in the Special Operations Combat Medic Course at the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School applies a tourniquet to a simulated wound during a casualty care scenario with service member volunteers and high fidelity manikins and using hyper realistic special effects makeup called moulage during training at Fort Bragg, North Carolina Feb. 16, 2023. NSOMI, a detachment of NMOTC, specializes in training the enlisted service members and medical providers who support US special operations. Enlisted service members who completed the courses will specialize in trauma management, infectious diseases, cardiac life support and surgical procedures, with a basic understanding of veterinary medicine and dental medicine. Navy Medicine Operational Training Command (NMOTC) is comprised of six nationwide detachments that offer specialized medical training in the fields of aviation, aviation survival, surface and undersea warfare, expeditionary and special operations medicine.
