Cmdr. Christian Esquivel, officer-in-charge, Expeditionary Medical Unit Two, serves as the casualty receiving officer for a simulated casualty during the unit’s Operational Readiness Evaluation (ORE) aboard the expeditionary fast transport ship USNS Point Loma (T-EPF 15), July 25, 2026. The event marked the U.S. Navy’s first ORE conducted for an EMU, and the first afloat ORE for the U.S. Navy’s expeditionary medical capability, a critical step in validating deployable medical capabilities in support of maritime operations, distributed maritime operations, and warfighter readiness.
