TUMBES, Peru (Aug. 5, 2026) Carmen Flores, an entomologist with NAMRU SOUTH, teaches Lt. Jenniffer Katekintha, a U.S. Navy nurse, how to examine vector samples with a macroscope as part of the annual Military Tropical Medicine (MTM) Field Mission. The MTM program advances strategic objectives by training and equipping military medical providers to deliver high-quality care in austere environments.
