SERVICE OFFERINGS

Disease Management

We coordinate interventions and communications between the HIV positive service member, the Commanding Officer, HETUs, NPC and HQMC. Our responsibilities include:

  • Initial positive notification to appropriate commands, evaluation units and Navy/Marine Corps Personnel commands
  • Initial Positive and Re-Evaluation population identification processes
  • Positive member self-management education (reporting compliance)
  • Database maintenance and member tracking for required follow up
  • Process and outcomes measurements, evaluation and management

Force Testing and Data Management

We review and implement initiatives to promote force testing compliance and ensure data quality management and analysis. Our responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring two year HIV interval testing and hepatitis B and C testing compliance
  • Ensuring the Quality Assessment policy is implemented, monitored and reported
  • Ensuring software program testing, documentation and operating procedures are completed and distributed to appropriate sites and personnel

Administration and Support

We make decisions regarding ongoing operations of NBIMC, including documentation control, configuration management, system administration and physical security coordination. We provide a centralized point of contact for NBIMC on all issues relating to support, service and planning. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Ensuring valid Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) are in place with all data sharing partners
  • Ensuring NBIMC personnel and physical space meet NMCPHC, Navy Support Activity Bethesda (NSAB) and HIPAA requirements
  • Implementing document control policy for all financial and administrative records
  • Ensuring the HIV Management Service (HMS) meet all DOD, DON, and Military Health System requirements, and administering the surveillance program components
  • Monitoring IT support for common operating environment, integration and consolidation efforts and ensuring operations are consistent with DOD, DON directives and manages IT assets
  • Ensuring OCRS, DHP-SIRT and DADMS websites are maintained for the program
  • Ensuring periodic backups of databases, operating system files and user information
