Since 2004, NECE’s Testing & Evaluation Department has completed 92 collaborative research projects and worked with over 50 collaborators that produced 112 peer-reviewed publications, including 12 patents. Through collaborate efforts, department personnel have screened over 2,200 novel chemicals for potential public health application, created smartphone applications for information transfer regarding integrated public health pest management, and evaluated surveillance and pesticide application methods including evaluation of 85 new pieces of pesticide dispersal equipment, of which 17 are currently available for deployment.

  • Evaluate the utility of the novel "Flat Fly Stick" with current DoD available adhesive fly traps for filth fly control
  • Characterize the cuticular penetration and toxicology of a novel insecticide, fluralaner, for filth fly control
  • Evaluation of novel pesticides and formulations for efficacy against medically important mosquitoes
