Command Master Chief Busscher is a native of Los Angeles, California. He entered active naval service in March 1999 and reported to Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon completion of recruit training he attended Hospital Corpsman “A” school in Great Lakes, Illinois and Field Medical Service School (FMSS) at Camp Pendleton.

Master Chief Busscher’s sea tours include: Independent Duty Corpsman (IDC) in 3D Marine Division, Jungle Warfare Training Center, Okinawa, Japan, Senior Medical Department Representative in USS DECATUR (DDG 73), and Battle Force IDC for Commander Carrier Strike Group FIVE/CTF 70 permanently embarked in USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) homeported in Yokosuka, Japan. He has completed successful sea tours as Command Master Chief in USS MUSTIN (DDG 89) Forward Deployed in Yokosuka, Japan and USS PORTLAND (LPD 27).

Ashore, Master Chief Busscher has served as: General Duty Corpsman in Branch Medical Clinic Coronado, Psychiatric Technician in Naval Hospital Sigonella, Italy, Medical Readiness Inspector at Medical Readiness Division of Commander Naval Surface Forces Pacific in San Diego, California, Command Master Chief for Fleet Readiness Center, Atsugi, Japan and Command Master Chief at Naval Beach Group ONE in San Diego, California.

In November 2022, he assumed duties as Command Master Chief at Naval Medical and Readiness and Training Command in Yokosuka, Japan.

Master Chief Busscher earned a M.S. in Human Resources Management from Chapman University and a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Maryland. He is a proud graduate of the Navy’s Senior Enlisted Academy and the Command Master Chief Course.

Master Chief Busscher’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards), Military Outstanding Voluntary Service Medal (2 awards), and various unit and campaign awards.

He is authorized to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Fleet Marine Force Specialist and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist insignias.
