Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) Camp Lejeune is a unit within the larger Navy Medicine organization focused on ensuring readiness of the medical force.

NMRTC Camp Lejeune military members support Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune by providing quality health care to beneficiaries, training staff,
and ensuring warfighters are medically ready to deploy, both ashore and at sea.

A Defense Health Agency facility situated aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina, NMCCL provides support for all Marine Corps and Navy garrison and operational commands in tandem with eight outlying Branch Medical Clinics and the Intrepid Spirit Concussion Recovery Center.

NMCCL is a Level III Trauma Center and has proudly been providing critical care to the local community since 2018. NMCCL’s Trauma Center holds the distinction as the first Level III Trauma Center in the U.S. Navy and the first Navy medical facility to service trauma patients from the local community.


As one of 25 sponsoring institutions across the DHA enterprise, NMCCL is also the sponsoring institution for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, accredited Family Medicine and Psychiatry residency programs, and Sports Medicine fellowship. Other programs sponsored include a Commission on Dental Accreditation program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry; clinical phase training for the Interservice Physician Assistant Program and Graduate nursing programs in Woman's Health; Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesia; Family Practice and also serves as a participating site for ACGME accredited programs in Emergency Medicine and General Surgery and a clinical rotation site for multiple military health professions education programs.

The combined staff of more than 2,200 military, civil service, contract personnel, and reservists provide a workforce rich in expertise.

NMRTC Camp Lejeune subordinate commands include the deployable medical platform Expeditionary Medical Facility Kilo, Expeditionary Medical Unit 4, and Expeditionary Resuscitative Surgical System Teams 10-12.
