NOVEMBER - TOBACCO FREE LIVING

Data shows us that active duty Sailors and Marines use tobacco products at higher rates than the adult civilian population.

In addition, products like e-cigarettes, JUUL, and hookah are becoming more popular due to increased marketing, the idea that these products are less harmful than traditional tobacco products, unique flavors, and the ability to use discretely. But tobacco use impacts the health and the readiness of Sailors and Marines. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), report that of current adult smokers, 68.8 percent said they want to quit completely.1 NMCPHC is committed to providing Sailors, Marines, beneficiaries, and DoD civilians with the tools they need to live a tobacco free lifestyle and to quit tobacco.
