HMCS (SW/IW/FMF) Jillian M. Johnson

Senior Enlisted Leader, Navy Environmental and Preventive Medicine Unit TWO

Senior Chief Hospital Corpsman Jillian Johnson originally from Spencer, Massachusetts enlisted in the Navy in 2001.  After completing boot camp and Hospital Corpsman “A” school, she reported to Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Florida.  During her tour, she rotated through the Maternity Unit, OB/GYN, and the Diabetic Clinic.  In 2004, she deployed to Djibouti, Africa on the Expeditionary Medical Unit platform.
 
In 2007, she graduated from Preventive Medicine Technician “C” school and reported to the Navy Entomology Center of Excellence in Jacksonville, Florida.  She assisted with several pesticide efficacy projects that resulted in improved products to support the deployed warfighter.  In 2009, she earned her Associates Degree in General Studies.
 
In 2010, she transferred to the Naval Branch Health Clinic Portsmouth, New Hampshire.  She was directly responsible for all installation facility inspections and regional Shipboard Sanitation Exemption inspections on overhauled submarines, newly commissioned destroyers, and Coast Guard Cutters.
 
In 2013, she attended Field Medical Training Battalion at Camp Johnson in North Carolina.  After graduating, she reported to 1st Medical Battalion at Camp Pendleton, California.  Upon her arrival, she deployed to Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan with the Retrograde and Redeployment Group.  After returning, she deployed again to Camp Mojuk, South Korea as the SMDR for Marine Forces Korea HQ unit during exercise Key Resolve.
 
In 2016, she was selected to Chief Petty Officer and reassigned to COMUSNAVEUR COMUSNAVAF COMUSSIXFLT Naples, Italy as an assistant medical planner for global health engagements and partner nation exercises. In December 2019, she transferred to the Pre-Commissioning Unit John F. Kennedy (CVN79) Newport News, Virginia as the senior PMT to build all the shipboard public health programs.  She was selected to Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2020.  She attended the Senior Enlisted Academy and completed a bachelor’s degree in Public Health in 2021.  In September 2023, HMCS Johnson assumed the duties as the Senior Enlisted Leader of Navy Environmental and Preventive Medicine Unit TWO.        
 
HMCS Johnson’s personal awards include the Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 Awards), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 Awards), Army Achievement Medal (2 Awards), Meritorious Unit Commendation, Military Outstanding Volunteer Medal, and Good Conduct Medal along with various other campaign and service ribbons.
