Our Mission

Located on Naval Station Norfolk, we provide specialized military operational public health support and services to Department of the Navy (DoN) and Joint operational, medical, and training commands, as well as DoN installations, in areas of occupational medicine, environmental health, industrial hygiene, audiology, toxicology, entomology, preventive medicine, health promotion, laboratory services, and radiological health and health hazards.

Currently, neither mpox testing nor treatment are readily available in a forward deployed operational setting. Units should identify suspected cases, isolate them, and move them for care at an MTF when operationally feasible.
