Command Master Chief
U.S. Naval Medical Readiness and Training Command Okinawa, Japan
 
Master Chief Kaneshiro hails from Honolulu, Hawaii and enlisted in the Navy on September 1998. After Graduating from HM “A” School in Great Lakes, IL and Field Medical Service School, Camp Pendleton CA, he reported to 3rd Marine Division, Okinawa Japan in July 1999 and earned the Fleet Marine Force Warfare designation as a Third Class Petty Officer.
 
In August 2001, he reported to Naval Medical Clinic Pearl Harbor, HI as the Leading Petty Officer for Acute and Primary Care Clinic and later selected for Regional Ceremonial Guard duty conducting ceremonies and burials where he advanced to Second Class Petty Officer.
 
In August 2004, he deployed with 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines Regiment as Line Corpsman for Bravo Company, Maritime Special Purpose Force during OIF II in heavy ground combat in Fallujah, Al Anbar Province Iraq during operation Phantom Fury & New Dawn.
 
In July 2006, he graduated Independent Duty Corpsman “C” School with Honors and Distinction and advanced to First Class Petty Officer.
 
Immediately after, he reported to 3rd Medical Battalion, Okinawa, Japan where he deployed to Al Anbar Province Iraq as LPO of Combat Logistics Battalion-4. In 2008, he was promoted to Chief Petty Officer and assigned as Senior Enlisted Leader for various units conducting numerous humanitarian and combat operations throughout Asia.
 
In 2009, he transferred to Field Medical Training Battalion (West) for Instructor Duty and served as Leading Chief, Class Advisor, and Senior Medical Department Representative training Corpsman to operate in Marine Corps Operations and qualified as Master Training Specialist.
 
He reported to USS CHANCELLORSVILLE (CG-62) in July 2012 as Senior Medical Department Representative and Executive Department Leading Chief Petty Officer where he qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and subsequently attained the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer.
 
In 2015, he reported to U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka, Japan as the Senior Enlisted Leader for Directorate of Medical Services and selected to Master Chief Petty Officer. In 2018 to 2021, he served as Command Master Chief of Navy Medical Readiness & Training Command Oak Harbor.
 
Master Chief Kaneshiro holds a Bachelor in Health Sciences and recipient of the 2014 Commander, U.S. Naval Surface Forces’ Leadership Award. His military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6 Awards), Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 Awards), Combat Action Ribbon, and various unit, service, and campaign awards.
