Mission Statement
To prevent occupational-related hearing injuries and increase medical readiness through advocacy, outreach, training, hearing protection, medical surveillance, and treatment/rehabilitative services.

Services
  • Provides Hearing Conservation Program support to include Hearing Loss Prevention Training, PPE effectiveness measurements, and command program performance consultation and assists in medical readiness assessments.
  • Provides technical assistance and consultation to operational Navy and Marine Corps activities and units, to monitor and facilitate hearing conservation program compliance; facilitates readiness for Board Inspection and Survey (INSURV), Naval Safety Center Survey, Medical Readiness Inspection (MRI), Afloat Training Group (ATG) inspections, and other fleet safety and medical inspections requirements. Provide recommendations for program improvements as necessary.
  • Conducts ear mold impressions for squadrons and School of Music that per instruction, warrant custom hearing protection. Coordinates with commands for commands ordering supplies and ear molds.
  • Performs comprehensive data analysis to enforce program compliance and effectiveness. Reports metric to NEPMU support Fleet safety assets in an effort to reduce occupational hearing loss, cost, and lost man hour. 
  • Conducts Hearing Conservation Technician Proficiency Evaluations for afloat assets within the NEPMU-2 AOR. Make recommendation for any deficiencies noted during evaluation to ensure that proper protocol and best practices are being used.To prevent occupational-related hearing injuries and increase medical readiness through advocacy, outreach, training, hearing protection, medical surveillance, and treatment/rehabilitative services.

Currently, neither mpox testing nor treatment are readily available in a forward deployed operational setting. Units should identify suspected cases, isolate them, and move them for care at an MTF when operationally feasible.
