OCCUPATIONAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL MEDICINE DEPARTMENT
The Occupational and Environmental Medicine (OEM) Department is the premier provider of technical services in the fields of occupational and environmental medicine, radiation health, and occupational audiology. OEM provides mission critical products and services every day directly contributing to Navy Medicine’s world-class care. Hundreds of health care providers, military treatment facilities and major commands depend on our products and services to accomplish their missions. Our customers include doctors, nurses, technicians, clinics, hospitals, ships and line commands. While the majority of our customers work for the Navy and Marine Corps, our products and services are also used by the Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard. Currently, neither mpox testing nor treatment are readily available in a forward deployed operational setting. Units should identify suspected cases, isolate them, and move them for care at an MTF when operationally feasible.
