HEALTH PROMOTION ADVANCED TRAINING

Description:

Health Promotion (HP) Advanced provides attendees with the skills to plan, implement, and evaluate their command’s HP Program. It expands upon the knowledge-based content in the Navy Health Promotion Basics course, and introduces the skills required to run a HP Program.

Topics covered in HP Advanced include developing a program plan, programming content, and scheduling and marketing events, as well as a deeper look at the HP focus areas.

  • Command Health Promotion Coordinators/Directors (Primary Duty)
  • Others may be admitted as vacant seats allow

Pre-Requisites and Requirements:

  • E-6 and above or GS-9 and above
  • Promote wellness and healthy lifestyles within their own commands by setting a personal example for healthy living.
  • Complete the Navy Health Promotion Basics course

Dress Code:

Duty uniform or appropriate civilian attire

Dates:

In-person trainings, when available, are one day from 0800-1630.

Virtual trainings are two days long with four hours of instructions on each day.

Currently, neither mpox testing nor treatment are readily available in a forward deployed operational setting. Units should identify suspected cases, isolate them, and move them for care at an MTF when operationally feasible.
