HMC (FMF) Joseph Redmann
Senior Enlisted Leader
Naval Medical Research Unit San Antonio

Chief Petty Officer Redmann is a native of Houston, TX. He enlisted in the United States Navy on March 1, 2006.
Following enlistment, he attended Recruit Training Command and Interior Communication Electrician (IC) “A” School in Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon graduation in October 2006, he reported to his first duty assignment, USS Enterprise (CVN-65) and deployed with Carrier Strike Group 12 and 5th Fleet AOR, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). After returning from deployment in 2007, received orders to Hospital Corpsman “A” School in Great Lakes, Illinois, and following orders to Field Medical Service School (FMSS). 
In May 2008, he reported to 2nd Battalion 8th Marines (2/8) in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. During his tenure, he was promoted to HM3 and deployed to Afghanistan in 2009 in support OEF. Served as Senior Line Corpsman for Echo Company Weapons Platoon, earned his Fleet Marine Force Enlisted Warfare Specialist insignia and awarded the Navy & Marine Corps Medal with Combat “V.” In October 2010, he reported to the Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) “C” school in Fort Sam Houston, TX. Upon graduation was promoted to HM2, earned his 8410 NEC, and received orders to Fort Belvoir Community Hospital (FBCH), Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Served as Operating Room (OR) Team Leader for the Equipment Management Branch. 
In May 2016, reported to Navy Medical Research Unit Six (NAMRU-6) in Lima, Peru, where he served as Shop Foreman and for the Maintenance Management Program. In September 2017, promoted to HM1 and selected for instructor duty at Naval Medical Training Support Center (NMTSC), Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Upon his tour at NMTSC from 2018-2022, he was selected to Chief Petty Officer and served as Academics Lead Chief Petty Officer and Senior Instructor for the BMET “C” school program. Reported to Naval Medical Research Unit – San Antonio in December 2022 and is currently serving as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader.
His personal decorations include Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Combat “V”, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal and other campaign, unit, and service awards.  He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science from Trident University International. He’s certified as a Certified Healthcare Technology Manager, CompTIA Security+ Certified, Certified Manager, and various other certifications.
