Master Chief Brian Campbell was born and raised in Kannapolis, NC.  He enlisted in the Navy in September 1996, and reported to Recruit Training Command, in Great Lakes, Illinois.  Upon graduation, he reported to Seamanship Service School, Great Lakes, IL, with orders to USS TORTUGA (LSD 46) Deck Department.

In July 1997, he reported to Basic Hospital Corpsman "A" School, Great Lakes, IL.  Upon graduation, he reported to Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA, inpatient Oncology Department.  In 1999, he was selected to Third Class Petty Officer and received orders to USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71), as the inpatient ward corpsman.  In 2002, under the Command Advancement Program (CAP), he received selection to Second Class Petty Officer.

In 2003, Petty Officer Campbell reported to Surface Force Independent Duty Corpsman School (SF-IDC), San Diego, CA.  Following a very demanding year of instruction and selection to First Class Petty Officer, he reported to USS OSPREY (MHC 51) in Ingleside, TX, as his first SF-IDC tour.  In 2006, he decommissioned USS OSPREY (MHC 51, and accepted orders to USS STOUT (DDG 55) in Norfolk, VA and in 2008 was selected to Chief Petty Officer.

After completing an arduous sea assignment, Chief Campbell reported to Naval Medical Center Jacksonville, FL (NMC-Jax), where he served as Medical Readiness Coordinator for a base with 44 tenant Commands.  While stationed at NMC-Jax, he accepted an Individual Augmentation to CAMP SIMBA, Kenya, Africa providing medical care in a joint operational environment to all components of the Department of Defense.  After 9 months in Africa, he returned to NMC-Jax as the Senior Enlisted Leader of the Naval Medical Center Jacksonville Branch Clinic.  In 2012, he was selected as Senior Chief Petty Officer.

Following his shore assignment, he reported to USS CARTER HALL (LSD 50), as the Medical Department Leading Chief Petty Officer and SF-IDC.  After a successful sea tour, he accepted orders to US Fleet Forces Command Norfolk, VA, as the Commander Task Force 80 (CTF 80) SF-IDC in 2015.  While assigned to CTF 80, Senior Chief Campbell filled a lead Medical Planner role, providing daily briefs to US NORTHERN COMMAND during the numerous hurricanes in 2017.

In May 2018, he was selected as Master Chief Petty Officer, and reported to USS ANCHORAGE (LPD 23) in San Diego, CA, as the Medical Department Leading Chief Petty Officer and SF-IDC.  In October 2019, he accepted orders to Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Bethesda, as the Senior Enlisted Leader.  

Master Chief Campbell is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy in Newport, RI, and his personal awards include Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (seven awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement (four awards) as well as various unit and campaign awards.
