For those just assigned to NEPMU-5, welcome! NEPMU-5 staff is comprised of Officer, Enlisted, and civilian experts. If you have yet to hear from your sponsor, you should call the Sponsor Coordinator to check on your sponsor’s status and have any other assignment questions addressed: Commercial: (619) 556‐7070 or, DSN: 526‐7070.
Our mission is to man, train, equip and deploy expert preventive medicine teams to provide force health protection, population health products and environmental disease threat to our Navy and Marine Corps teams, operational forces and homeland defense agencies. We provide expert technical services in epidemiology, microbiology, industrial hygiene, environmental health, and entomology to assist in the detection and elimination of health hazards. We also conduct a variety of training courses using various methodologies and techniques in different aspects of preventive medicine.
During normal working hours (0600 – 1700 Monday– Friday) those assigned to NEPMU-5 should report to the Officer of the Day (OOD) on the Quarterdeck of building 3235, dry side of Naval Base San Diego. After working hours, on weekends and holidays, report by calling the OOD duty phone. Upon your arrival you will need to call either your sponsor at the work number they provided you or the NEPMU-5 Admin Office.
