Officer

 
The Navy Medical Department officer’s continuum of professional military education and training is designed to develop critical technical and leadership skills necessary to support operational requirements. Basic, entry-level courses focus developing on Ensigns through Lieutenants (O1-O3) and include Navy Medicine-101 (NM-101), Plans, Operations, and Medical Intelligence Course (POMIC), Patient Administration Course (PAC), and Financial and Material Management Course (FMMTC).  Advanced course focus on developing Lieutenant Commanders and Commanders (O4-O5) and include Advanced Readiness Officers Course (AROC), and the Military Tropical Medicine Course (MTMC). Executive Courses are focused on the development of Captains (O6) and include the Interagency Institute for Federal Health Care Executives Course.
